    1. Thanks Deb! I actually read the first book in that series as part of the school program, and I'm unsure of whether or not I want to continue.

  3. I haven't read any of these books personally but I have heard of most of them. I have looked at Borrowed Souls and wondered if it would be my kind of read. I'm still thinking about it! I probably need to read a few more reviews before I decide! Thanks for visiting my TTT this week! It's always great so have a new visitor!

  5. Highly recommend Sherlock Holmes and The Raven Cycle! Holmes stories are what I turn to when I need a comforting read, and The Raven Cycle sucked me in. In fact, I'm itching to reread them.

    1. I recently started watching the TV show elementary, which was what reminded me that my mom had all the Sherlock Holmes books in her bookshelf!

  6. I'd like to read Maas at some point, and more of Claudia Gray's books too. I've read a couple now but not that series.

Love that cover of Becoming. Very nice.

    1. Surprisingly, I only had 11 series in my TBR list... I grew tired of adding series and dystopia books to my TBR a while ago, and I just completely stopped!

  10. The Raven Cycle and Sherlock Holmes are a couple of my favorites! I've read the first book in the Firebird series and Throne of Glass, but I need to continue! :)

  13. I read a Throne of Glass 2 years ago and really enjoyed it! Still got the rest of the series to read though. Red Queen is one I've been intrigued by but have never been interested enough to actually research it to the point where I'd want to read it. I've heard amazing things about The Raven Boys, one day, one day! Soul Charmer was undetected until I discovered it through someone else's TTT a week or so ago. It has such a fascinating concept! I hope you love it. :)

    1. Thanks so much Vena Isabella. I've actually heard that the 3rd book is the best in the Throne of Glass series- so you should probably go ahead and read the rest of the series!

  14. I've actually read a few of these! I personally couldn't get through A Thousand Pieces of You, but the cover really is stunning. The Throne of Glass series, although it has many problematic elements, gets better with every book. I've also read Red Queen which I thought was okay. But by far my favourite on this list is The Raven Cycle. I adore those books to pieces and they only get better from the first one. I hope you enjoy your reading!

  16. I really liked the Raven Cycle, Throne of Glass and Heist Society books, so I hope you do too. Red Queen is decent but nothing particularly original.

    1. Oh that's sad to hear (about Red Queen)... maybe I'll finish a few of the other series before getting to that one.

  17. YAY for our shared pick of Red Queen! Glad to know there's someone else looking to read those. :) I'd like to read Ally's 'Heist' series too. They look and sound super cute. Sarah TOG books are on my perpetual TBR too - I fear I'll "never" get to reading those because their length intimidates me. ;)

    Thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland.

  18. I forgot to put it on my list, but I still need to read Throne of Glass too. I haven't finished the Red Queen series yet, but what I've read so far is a pretty exciting read. I hope you enjoy it when you get to it. :)

The Hero, by Rabindranath Tagore

The narrative poem" The Hero" was written by Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. Set in a young boy's imaginations this narrative has all the necessary elements and is rich in imagery. The characters, plot, setting, theme, climax and idea are all very clearly outlined.  The setting of the poem falls within the boy's imagination. It is described to have 'spiky grass' and a 'narrow broken path'. It is also mentioned that the country is 'strange and dangerous'. The rurality of the setting is further accentuated when Tagore talks of the 'cattle' and 'wide fields'.

One by Shawnee Kellie

The poem "One" by Shawnee Kellie is a very interesting and thought-provoking piece of writing. The poem spreads the message that it is not only a large group of people that can make a change, but one idea, one thought, one human that can help make the world a better place.

Coromandel Fishers by Sarojini Naidu

Hello! For this post I will be exploring another poem written by Sarojini Naidu, called "Coromandel Fishers". This poem can be taken as an allegory, for although it speaks to fishermen, it's metaphoric value speaks to the nation, and can be considered a wakening call for the people of our country. When I wrote about "In the Bazaars of Hyderabad", I mentioned that Sarojini Naidu was one of our freedom fighters, and believed greatly in the Swadeshi movement. Naidu reflects her passion for India in this poem.
