Hiding in the shadows

The moment's disappeared It's been a while  I can't remember it anymore The hour's gone as though  It was a second It's been a short one I can't remember it anymore Where's it gone? I wonder to myself Why is the things we want Will never show themselves? Hiding in the shadows They'll show themselves  One day Until then That moment's disappeared The hour's gone as though It was a second I can't remember it anymore -Poem Fanatic

For a while now

The thrill is gone It's gone away  It isn't coming back For a while now The buzz has died down No one else cares They aren't going to care For a while now When it comes back There will be buzz But that's for the world to decide And they won't decide For a while now While you continue To be mesmerized  The world has moved on They won't return  For a while now They won't realize The endless charm They understand it For a while now -Poem Fanatic

Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard

Publication Date: February 11th 2016 Genre: Friendship, Young Adult Fiction My Goodreads Rating: 4/5 Source:  Borrowed Hello Everyone! It's been a while since I last reviewed a book, so today I'm going to share with you my thoughts on a book I recently read- Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard . It was a great book, and although it may sound like a typical novel about friendship and trust, this book has interesting characters, realistic scenarios, and a great story line.  This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I'll admit that I was a little skeptical about the novel at first. It seems like your everyday friendship and self-destruction novel, but it's so much more than that. Cadman and Rosie have been best friends for ten years, even though they're not in the same school. They embody the spirit of the saying "opposites attract". While Cadman is shy and timid, Rosie is loud and out-going in the best way.

The time

The time hasn't come The moment isn't great The situation is bad The time isn't right The moment will come The time too The situation will become better The time too will come It will always be an excuse It will always block your path The time that isn't right The moment that isn't perfect The time will never be amazing The day will always bring sorrow The moment will pass by The time will never come -Poem Fanatic

It won't kill you

Put it away It isn't that hard Push it off It won't kill you Slide it off the glass Thrash it on the floor Make life better For the people around you I promise you won't die If you don't It'll suddenly be My time to shine That I'm sure  You won't stand So push it away Before I do I promise it won't kill you It won't kill you I promise -Poem Fanatic

Hold on

Hold on, Don't take that step Wait for the moment The one you're told is best Hold on, Are you sure? Do you think that prize is yours? Should you try at all? Hold on, Stay right where you are Remain on par, Don't try to move ahead Hold on It doesn't seem great It's better than worse But it isn't the best Hold on, Till you're absolutely sure Nothing's in the way Victory's yours -Poem Fanatic

Raiders from the North by Alex Rutherford

Publication Date: January 1st 2009 Genre: Historical Fiction My Goodreads Rating: 4/5 Source:  Own Copy Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to be reviewing "Raiders from the North" by Alex Rutherford. It is the first book in her "Empire of the Moghul" series, and revolves around the life of the first Mughal emperor, Babur.  Babur became king of Ferghana at the young age of 12, following the death of his father. From the moment of his coronation till his last few breaths, Babur's life was one of danger, ambition, courage and war. He lost control of his lands several times, but came back to build an empire in India ( that was previously known as Hindustan).  The book takes us through the long journeys that Babur undertook as a child, and shows us his growth from a King to an Emperor, and from a warrior to a leader.  Rutherford tells her tale as a narrative from the third person point-of-view, and creates fictional characters along the way. Most of the

For you

What it was  I don't recall Because it fell apart Too soon for me to realize If my heart was yours at all I wonder now as I am free Did you ever care Or was it my mind That you sought For yourself? What I did I don't remember But I know it was for you Did you think I wouldn't realize? (That my heart was never yours) As I dwelled upon your words I understood that they were orders And I was reminded that is was for you It's always for you -Poem Fanatic

Shine with the Angelic Glow

Shine,  With your Angelic Glow, Light up this dim world of ours, Guide with your indirect light, The path we should tread upon Shine, With your Angelic Glow, Thrust away the grey figures Replace them with your envoys  Shine, With your Angelic Glow, Remind us in this dim world of ours Of the path that was tread upon And the path that should be walked Shine,  With your Angelic Glow For one last moment Till I let go -Poem Fanatic

IMWAYR-08/08/2016

Hello everyone! I'm back with another IMWAYR* post. It's been a while since my last reading update- and I've read a lot of books since then. I'm just going to write about this last week though.  I finished reading " United as one " by Pittacus Lore, the last book in the Lorien Legacies. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, but it was quite gripping, and a good ending to the series. This book was more than 400 pages, and so it counted for my  The Lorien Legacies are one of the only series I've ever read about aliens- but it did feel quite like a normal series after the first book.   I also finished reading " Cards on the Table" by Agatha Christie . I'm absolutely loving it so far, and I think it may be one of my favourite Christie novels! I'm currently reading " Brothers at War " by Alex Rutherford . It's the second book in "The Moghul Empire" series, and it's about Humayun. I'm enjoying

If I could

If I could, I would,  I know I'd do it, If I should Should I? Be that strong? Or should I  Be weaker than I was? Hide from my heart Hide from my soul Hide from my life If I could  I would I know I'd do it If I could -Poem Fanatic

Dew

Flexible glass, Sits on a bed of green Pearls of white Lay on the surface While domes form  Over top Streaks of blue  And streaks of green Marbled into white The soft breeze Carries the soothing scent The one that belongs to  Dew -Poem Fanatic

Daydream

She was a daydream She was a nightmare She was nothing  But the perfect scare She was perfect That's what she was Until she wasn't  The Perfect girl went away She had wings sprout Out of her spine She was the perfect girl Who knew how to fly Until they decided That she wasn't great  She didn't deserve them The wings went away She's no longer a daydream She's been a nightmare Way too many times She's been a perfect scare She doesn't want greatness She doesn't want fame She wants to be a living thing She doesn't want to be a dream -Poem Fanatic
