Hello everyone! I'm back with another IMWAYR* post. It's been a while since my last reading update- and I've read a lot of books since then. I'm just going to write about this last week though.
I finished reading "United as one" by Pittacus Lore, the last book in the Lorien Legacies. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, but it was quite gripping, and a good ending to the series. This book was more than 400 pages, and so it counted for my The Lorien Legacies are one of the only series I've ever read about aliens- but it did feel quite like a normal series after the first book.
I also finished reading "Cards on the Table" by Agatha Christie. I'm absolutely loving it so far, and I think it may be one of my favourite Christie novels!
I'm currently reading "Brothers at War" by Alex Rutherford. It's the second book in "The Moghul Empire" series, and it's about Humayun. I'm enjoying it, although I did prefer the first book "Raiders from the North". Both of these books also count for my Big Book Challenge.

I'd also like to give you a short update on the books I've read for the Big Book Challenge so far, hosted by bookbybook. The challenge is to read as many "big books" as you can this summer. In order to be a Big Book, a book must be more than 400 pages.

The Lorien Legacies weren't my personal favorite, but my students really like them. I somehow neglected to buy book six because it just wasn't on my radar, but I have ordered it (as well as the last one) for this year. Now I'll have to read them both!
ReplyDeleteI loved the series. Although I didn't enjoy them as much as some of the other sci-fi series I've read, I do feel that they're great books.
DeleteI've never read Cards on the Table, and I was a major Agatha Christie fanatic as a teenager - it's always fun to discover a new-to-me title from a favourite author that I can look forward to reading!!
ReplyDeleteI love discovering new Christie books. It seems like the list is never ending!
DeleteWow, you're doing great on the Big Book Summer Challenge! Much better than me so far - ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI read the first 2 or 3 books in the Lorien Legacy series but never finished it. I should get back to it.
Enjoy your books this week -

2016 Big Book Summer Challenge
Thanks a lot Sue. Enjoy your books as well.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I haven't read any of the Pittacus Lore books yet. I feel like I'm missing out. That's quite a list of big books. I loved the Dan Brown series.
ReplyDeleteSo did I. I haven't read Angels and Demons yet, but I'm looking forward to it. You are missing out- I loved the series!
DeleteI read one of the Pittacus Lore books. It was to violent for me, but our readers, especially a few of the boys devour them like chocolate bars.
ReplyDeleteIs United As One the last book in the series? I am planning to read the series once everything is out. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! You blow me away with how many books you're reading for the big book challenge.
ReplyDeleteI might have to check out the Agathie Christie book. It's a new title for me.
My only this summer was to read magazines. I read a couple dozen of them and still have about a dozen left.
