I'm going to say this- the story is about a school shooting. The Opportunity High School students find themselves locked in the auditorium after the principal's speech. A few minutes later someone starts shooting. "Everyone has a reason to fear the boy with the gun". This book has been quite a controversial one. I've been through so many reviews and ratings and what I've understood is that people either hate it or love it. I absolutely loved it!

The novel tells the story of Catherine, before she was the infamously heartless "Queen of Hearts". Lady Catherine is an immensely talented baker, who hopes to one day open a baker with her lady-in-waiting and trusted friend, Mary Anne. Her parents however, the Marquess and Marchioness of Rock Turtle Cove, do not deem it a profession proper for a Lady of the Court.  For you see, Catherine has been in the clumsy King's sights for a while now. At a ball where he is expected to propose to her, she meets the new court joker, Jest and begins to court him secretly.

This contemporary romance, about two incredibly different characters who attempt to get past each others' boundaries is a very interesting read. It's also quite a quick read, as it deals with heavy emotions in the colloquial style that is more common today. Natasha is a Jamaican girl who has lived in America since she was 8 years old. She is a strong believer in fact and science, and from experience, has learned that practicality outdoes passion, and that plans are better than poetry. She is most definitely not the type of person who falls in love- especially when her family is 12 hours away from being deported back to Jamaica.

This book, however, helped me realize that Historical Fictions are the books I love to read the most. "The Bishop's Girl" by Rebecca Burns is an intricately woven story that deals with identity and identification, love and romance, jobs and family life, and most of all, discovery.  Jess is a certified archivist who works at the Shacklock Library. Under a strict, work-absorbed professor, she researches the unidentified body of a young woman who was buried with the famous Bishop Shacklock sometime in the First World War.   Struggling to find anything of relevance that hasn't been reviewed in her last six years at the library, she stumbles upon a document that could possibly change history. It's been a while since I last reviewed a book, so today I'm going to share with you my thoughts on a book I recently read- Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard . It was a great book, and although it may sound like a typical novel about friendship and trust, this book has interesting characters, realistic scenarios, and a great story line.  This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I'll admit that I was a little skeptical about the novel at first. It seems like your everyday friendship and self-destruction novel, but it's so much more than that. Cadman and Rosie have been best friends for ten years, even though they're not in the same school. They embody the spirit of the saying "opposites attract". While Cadman is shy and timid, Rosie is loud and out-going in the best way.
