" I'm a woman,
Phenomenally
Phenomenal Woman,
That's me"
This is the confidence that each woman should have. Each woman should know that her beauty lies not in her smile, hair and clothes, but in her touch, her laugh and her work. Because all women are " women phenomenally, phenomenal women".
Maya Angelou was an American author, poet, singer, actress and dancer. She has published several autobiographies, and 3 analogies as well. She has also published several books of her own poetry. Maya Angelou is the perfect example of a strong, hard-working and truly phenomenal woman.
This poem has shown us that she was proud of who she was, and that she was a self-confident woman. She was able to convey her confidence through this poem without sounding conceited. The poet uses one obvious metaphor ; when she compares men swarming around her to a hive of bees. The whole piece talks about Maya's inner beauty, her strength and her confidence. If you haven't read the poem, I strongly suggest that you do, it will remind you of your own strength, and fill your mind with positive thoughts about yourself, eradicating any negative ones.
This poem also rhymes, and it's a fun poem to read. It can be read for pleasure, which is one of the things I love about this poem. Often, I find some poems that are lovely, but that I wouldn't revisit. I wouldn't go back to them if I was happy, because they are so melancholy. I think this poem is a great relief to read, and a positive influence on our minds.
