Thanks to Broke and Bookish, I'm back with another Top Ten Tuesday Post. This week's theme is a Freebie about Covers- which means I can basically create my own topic. I know there'll be some really creative lists out there, but I'm going to post my favourite blue covers and stick to the basics. So here are my Top Ten Favourite Blue Covers ( in no particular order)
5. The Thing about Jellyfish by Ali Benjamin
6. Crossed by Ally Condie
7. The Survivor's Guide to Family Happiness by Maddie Dawson
9. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
10. Delirium by Lauren Oliver
I had so much fun writing this post! What's your favourite blue cover? I just can't choose!
I love the texture that this replicates! |
2. Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
I wish I could say that I loved the book as much as I loved the writing..... |
3. Anything But Typical by Nora Raleigh Baskin
Doodles on covers aways draw me in. No matter what! |
If you hadn't guessed already, I have a weakness for watercolour/inked paintings! |
I just finished this book and I absolutely LOVED IT! (Look out for my review soon)! |
This entire series was OK, I loved it while reading it, Then got slightly bored with the concept. It's quite similar to Divergent etc... |
7. The Survivor's Guide to Family Happiness by Maddie Dawson
This book is fictional, not a self-help book... |
8. The Selection by Kiera Cass
I think the reflections really add a lot to the cover. |
This is definitely one of my all-time favourite books! |
I didn't love this book either. But the cover is beautiful! |
I've not read any of these but of the ones you chose, I think my favorite is This Adventure Ends. I love the dreamy feel of it. Blue is a great color and I bet you had a hard time narrowing it down.
ReplyDeleteWell you chose wisely, Barb! This Adventure Ends is an amazing book!
DeleteI really liked the third one, it reminds me of Zentangles.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly, Karen!
DeleteGreat choices for BLUE covers!! It's such a shame that some books looks so beautiful only to fail at making it a an enjoyable read!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? Well, I guess I still have to learn not to judge a book by its cover!
Deleteoh I love all your pick for blue covers! I hope to read Made You Up soon! I also have a weakness for watercolor AND blue [especially teal so I love your post SO MUCH :)
ReplyDeleteTeal is my favourite shade of blue- at the moment. I never know when that might change!
DeleteI love blue covers. Unravel Me is awesome (all the covers in that series really) and I've always liked Crossed too. Something about the blue and her breaking out of that bubble thing. Delirium is nice also.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think Breaking out of the Bubble is such a symbolic image that no matter what the colour, it would have created attraction.
DeleteOf course, the fact that the cover's blue makes me love it even more!
Nice! I love blue in general, and I seem to be especially drawn to blue covers. There's just something calming about them? I don't know, that's maybe just me. Out of these, I particularly like the watercolours (4 + 5) because they're even more serene to me.
ReplyDeleteWatercolours are so calming! I love that you don't need to worry about mistakes or cleaning them up.
DeleteMade You Up has such a pretty cover!

Doesn't it? It's a great book as well!
DeleteI love blue covers. And both Selection and Delirium look amazing.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, they weren't the best books on that list. They weren't bad either, just not books I'd enthusiastically recommend.
DeleteWow. There are some really beautiful covers here. I love the ones that look like watercolour paints on them.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Made You Up yet, but I love the cover. :)
